Dr. Arvin Scott is an award-wining, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and university professor with a track record that spans nearly 40 years. He draws from his wealth of experience in classic R&B, jazz, African, Caribbean, and Brazilian genres and more, for the production of his unique, and exciting World Beat project.
Mark in the lead singer for Royal Chant. He plays anti-folk and is influenced by Michael Stipe, Lou Reed, John Keats.
Royal Chant is slurred and slanted, poetic and fuzz, with pounding drums that keep the world at bay. They keep playing and playing, over the noise and into the noise, despite the pain or perhaps because of the pain, through disappointment and into the fleeting moments when it all makes sense. This is music you can lose yourself in, maybe even find yourself in. To get drunk to or shake your entire being along with, to make out to or shout at the world.
A nationally touring throat-singing, slide-guitar playing, one-man-band by Matt Lorenz. Matt Lorenz started The Suitcase Junket in 2010 to test the boundaries of how much sound can come out of one performer without loops or electronic tricks. He honed his foot-drumming skills while performing with the junk-folk band Rusty Belle. His first album Sever and Lift came out in the spring of 2010. His new release Knock It Down just dropped in November.

This will be UGA Costa Rica's 4th annual Welcome Back Fall Fiesta! In addition to 2012 student artwork, environmental designs, and photodocumentaries on display, UGA Costa Rica's Director, Dr. Quint Newcomer, will say a few words about the achievements of this past year and UGACR's vision for 2013. It will also be the official unveiling of the short mockumentary, Hairy Dawg Goes to UGA Costa Rica. Food will be provided, as will live music from Old Skool Trio! Come one, come all!

Based in Athens, GA, the Odd Trio are devoted to original music and to working as a band. Longtime friends who met at the University of Georgia, the Odd Trio is a true trio who’s focus is an equal membership in, and ownership of, the music. Brian Smith, Marc Gilley and Todd Mueller are classically trained musicians who slip easily between a wide range of genres, subverting each genre’s stylistic cues and range of expression for a higher purpose. The members of the Odd Trio have honed a very close improvisatory musical language and are always looking to the future though keenly aware of tradition.
