Rusty Belle began with the quiet determination to make unique music. Starting in their living rooms and working their way through coffee shops, bars, clubs, listening rooms, concert halls, and festival stages, they developed a style all their own. Rusty Belle swings easily from sweet, simple melodies, whiskey lullabies, blood ballads, busted bluegrass, and folk-punk anthems to tongue-in-cheek sleaze-rock, glossy-mag candy-pop, and down-home porch-tunes. The remarkable thing is that it's all done with honesty and respect for the music. Their shows are never predictable and always dynamic. At their best they will bring to you sweet nostalgia, swaggering poise, drunken logic, and grimy dancing before sending you home with a gentle "goodnight."

Stephen Simmons hails from Woodbury, a small town in central Tennessee that’s known for Sunday socials, tent revivals and palm readings. After ten years in Nashville, Stephen is, in many ways, still that Church of Christ kid––humble, good-natured, but more than a little dark––but as a songwriter and a road dog, his revelations are as exhilarating as a Tilt-a-Whirl. On his new record, The Big Show, Stephen combines his trademark insight and dark imagery with the wry humor and irony of a gifted songwriter who’s been around and seen more than his share of the true human psyche. Leticia's music is always changing and evolving, but the sexually charged themes of death, dispair, whiskey and unpreventable heartbreak are always presented with a knowing wink and an evil smile. Her music is not angry ... it’s just a little dark.

Sunday, May 20th

Until 2011, leader vocalist/ singer-songwriter Daniel Bayer was an enlisted member of the United States Army. When his enlistment was complete he decided that his passion for music and storytelling was stronger than ever. After a short stint as the driving force behind the Cincinnati, Ohio pop mayhem group known as the Allens, and numerous cameo positions in other popular Cincinnati bands such as, The Autumn Blackouts, The Minor Leagues and Cool Papa Bell, Bayer shipped off to spend 6 years in the US military. "I wanted to make a difference, not just write about one." He reflects when asked about his decision. "So many people talk about all these experiences they have had in life, I wanted to live them." Transplanted to Hunstville, AL after his release from the military, Bayer enlisted brother and drummer Michael Bayer to begin his new adventure in music. "He is the only one I would ever choose to play with. We have played together since we were kids. We know where each other is going with a song, and when we sing it's like one voice broken into harmony." My Brother the Bear currently tours around the mid-south, can be seen currently lending their folkism to up and coming band Loveday and are currently recording their debut album due out next year. $5
